Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights Review Formula = Fidel Castro + Watch Other People Dance - Other People Watch You Dance
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights is set in the 1958 Cuban Capital just before the revolution. Katey, an American girl played by Romola Garai lives in Havana with her prestigious family but is drawn to Javier, played by Diego Luna (Y Tu Mama Tambien).
This story admittedly has links to the original 1987 release, Dirty Dancing which starred Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze. The setting should be different enough though to set your Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights experience apart from the original. The film comes to its conflict as Katey and Javier enter a prestigious dance contest just as the revolution in Havana is set to break into the streets.
Fans of the dancing and romance of the nostalgic original are likely to enjoy this rendition.
