Walking Tall
Walking Tall Review Formula = WWE + MTV + Exactly What You Expected
In this corner, standing six feet, four inches tall, and weighing in at 270 pounds, Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. Rocky Maivia a.k.a. The Rock! Sounds like a wrestling introduction, but it doubles as the credits for Walking Tall.
As the first major film for The Rock to carry on his own, Box Office Talk does not have lofty expectations for the Walking Tall review. The movie places Rocky Maivia as a former soldier in the remake of the 1973 title of the same name. Upon his return to town, he finds his home has gotten a little seedy. After being appointed sheriff, he decides to clean the place up, blow some stuff up, and mess some bad guys up.
Walking Tall review by Brian Oliver - Movieman's Guide "I will say that this latest entry in The Rock's portfolio is on par with his other works such as The Scorpion King and The Rundown...The problem is, at this point in his career I just don't think he can carry a film by himself...though, he is surrounded by the likes of McDonough and TV legend Johnny Knoxville who actually had some funny moments here and there."
In the poster for Walking Tall, The Rock walks softly (sort of) and carries a big stick, taking the advice of Teddy Roosevelt. Ok, just kidding.
